What we offer

Boccia

Boccia truly stands out as a unique blend of strategy and precision! It's fascinating how it was initially designed for athletes with disabilities but has grown to be enjoyed by people of all abilities. The combination of chess-like tactics and the tactile feel of bowling makes it accessible and engaging for everyone. It really promotes inclusivity and camaraderie, allowing participants to focus on skill and strategy in a relaxed atmosphere. Have you played it yourself?

Available at Gisborne Cosmopolitan club every Monday between 3:30-4:30pm during school term time, come give it a go!

Adaptive Fitness Program

Our program offers adaptive training designed for all abilities, led by the experienced team from Icons. Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or looking for new ways to stay active, you'll find a welcoming space where everyone belongs.

Join a community that values support, inclusivity, and progress at your own pace. No matter your background or experience level, you’ll feel empowered to move, grow, and thrive.

Spaces are limited – registration is essential.

ACTIVE IN AUGUST

From 4th to 31st August 2025, take part in the Parafed Network Challenge: Active in August – an inclusive, fun way to stay active and support your local Parafed region!

Whether you walk, wheel, run, swim, cycle, hit the gym, or play a sport, every bit of movement counts. Your weekly distances will be added to your region's total in the race to be the most active!

🏅 Who Can Join?
Open to anyone connected to a Parafed organisation – members, staff, families, board, and supporters.

📏 How It Works:

  • Trackable activities (e.g. walk, run, swim, cycle): record your total distance.

  • Other activities (e.g. gym, sport): count 1km for every 10 minutes of exercise.

Join us for a fun and inclusive gymnastics experience!

We are excited to invite you to our Have-A-Go Adaptive Gymnastics sessions! These events are designed to introduce people of all abilities to the world of gymnastics in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

The Halberg Games truly offers a remarkable experience for athletes aged 8 - 21 years, fostering not only competition but also camaraderie in a vibrant game’s like village setting.

With an array of sports - from adaptive CrossFit to wheelchair rugby - there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The focus on inclusivity and fun encourages participants to explore their potential, forge new friendships, and celebrate their achievements. The opening and closing ceremonies add an extra layer of excitement, making the event unforgettable. It’s a fantastic way for athletes to connect and thrive in a supportive environment!
